Dan Morrison is a native of East Galesburg Illinois and currently lives in Quincy, Illinois which is right across the Mississippi River from the state of Missouri. Dan has been turkey hunting since 1994 and had the good fortune to harvest his 1st turkey in that year. He was then humbled the 2nd year by 9 straight days of turkey’s doing what turkeys do best, dishing out humble pie to those eagerly seeking it.
That season drove him to become a serious student of the wild turkey and begin devoting his spring to the pursuit of this great game bird. To date, Dan has harvested 29 birds and called in numerous others for clients and friends. He is retired from United Parcel Service, but works in the area’s best sporting goods store (GameMasters) where he serves as a pro staffer. Dan is also an instructor at an annual turkey school, has MC’d a local turkey calling contest, and held duck & goose calling seminars.
Dan has spent many hours perfecting his calling and woodsmanship skills, and is delighted when he can help someone else with theirs. Even though he is not a contest caller, Dan’s judges are wild turkeys. Where else is it legal to shoot the “judges”?
